12. Mobile App

The Open Mind Ledger mobile app puts your dashboards, KPIs, and alerts in your pocket. It's available for Android and iOS and signs in with the same account you use on the web.

  • Available to 👁️ Members and 👤 Admins. 🛡️ Superuser platform tools are web-only.
  • The app is read-only — it does not change your books or trigger a new QuickBooks sync.

12.1 Signing in

Open the app and sign in with the same email and password you use for Open Mind Ledger on the web. If your accounting firm manages multiple clients, you'll land on a Portfolio screen listing every Team you have access to; tap one to open its dashboard. Clients with a single Team go straight to their overview.

12.2 What you can see

  • Client / Team overview — the same key numbers you'd see on the web CEO Dashboard, sized for a phone: income, expenses, cash position, and EBITDA.

  • Income — a revenue trend chart and a category breakdown; tap a category to drill into its detail.

  • Cash — the cash position over time, including the projected trend.

  • Forecasting 👤 Admin — pull up a statistical forecast (cash, revenue, gross profit, or receivables) and test "what-if" scenarios on the go, using the same forecasting engine as the web app (see Forecasting). A forecast must be run from the web cockpit first before it's available on mobile.

  • A date-range picker and a read-only accounting-method label (Cash or Accrual) appear wherever the underlying report supports it, matching what's set for the Team.

Pull down on any screen to refresh — this reloads the latest numbers already on file; it does not start a new QuickBooks sync.

12.3 Alerts & notifications

  • The Alerts & Limits screen shows your Team's fired alerts, with a badge on the bell icon for anything you haven't seen yet. Tap an alert to mark it seen.

  • 👤 Admin can set or adjust threshold alerts (e.g., an expense category crossing a limit) right from the app, and turn individual thresholds on or off.

  • Push notifications deliver alerts and a weekly forecast summary straight to your device. Tapping a notification opens the related alert in the app. Push notifications are available on Android today; iOS push is on the way.

12.4 Good to know

  • The app mirrors your web account's permissions — Members see only what they'd see on the web, and Admin-only features (like forecasting scenarios and threshold configuration) stay Admin-only on mobile.

  • If you use the app across multiple devices or reinstall it, you may need to sign in again — sessions refresh automatically while the app is in regular use.

  • For anything the app doesn't cover yet (reports, budgets, tax planning, consolidation), open the full dashboard in your phone's browser at your usual Open Mind Ledger address.
